Meeting Information 

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission meets in-person at City Hall with remote options. You may attend in-person, watch online, or listen over the telephone. If you wish to make a public comment at a meeting, please see the Public Comment Protocol information below.

Public Comment Protocol

Public comments are accepted at meetings remotely, in-person, and in writing.

To make a public comment remotely (via Zoom or telephone), complete the Remote Public Comment Request Form at least 24 hours before the meeting. You will then be contacted via email to confirm your participation. Your reply to the confirmation email must be received by 4 p.m. on the day of meeting to be acknowledged that same evening. 

To make a public comment in-person, please sign up at the meeting (no 24 hour notice required).

To submit a written public comment, please email your remarks to mltrecreation@mltwa.gov or mail them to City Hall, 23204 58th Avenue W, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043. Written public comment must be received by 4 p.m. on the day of meeting to be acknowledged that same evening.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Mountlake Terrace DEIC is to celebrate and promote a diverse, equitable & inclusive culture within the community; eliminate any form of actual or perceived discrimination; and help community members from all backgrounds to learn, grow & thrive.

The seven-member volunteer advisory Commission will:

1.     Provide recommendations to the City Council that identify opportunities to address DEI issues, promote DEI programs, and/or provide guidance to create a more accessible, safe, welcoming and inclusive government and community.

2.     Provide input to the City departments that ensure equitable access to city services and facilities for our diverse population.

3.     Facilitate relationship building with under-served and underrepresented communities.

4.     Serve as a resource for City government and the community by providing information, education and communication that celebrates a better understanding of our differences.
