2021 Community Survey Highlights Progress on Economic Development 

As a community, Mountlake Terrace’s economic health and commercial vibrancy have greatly improved in recent years, according to a 2021 survey. Continued downtown development and Phase II of the Main Street project were described as top priorities for economic sustainability.

The survey results also show areas for improvement, including incentives for businesses to locate here, and the city could do more to foster opportunities for events, especially in arts and culture. Residents said they would like to see new employers, better access to affordable health care and childcare, and expanded shopping options.
