Kyoko has been a Mountlake Terrace resident since 1984 and has a son who graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School. Appointed to the City Council in January 2008, Kyoko has been re-elected several times since. She also served on the Planning Commission from 2002 to 2007.
A graduate of Inglemoor High School and the University of Washington, Kyoko works as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Bain. She is past president of the Snohomish County Camano Association of Realtors (SCCAR). She was selected as Realtor of the Year with SCCAR in 2001 and 2010. Kyoko has served as a Washington State Real Estate Commissioner from 2009 to 2021 and as a commissioner for the Housing Authority of Snohomish County from 2005 to 2021.
Earning her college degree in drama, Kyoko was on the UW School of Drama Advisory Board for over 20 years. She was also on the ACT Theatre Board of Trustees for about 9 years.
Kyoko currently serves on the Seashore Transportation Forum, the Alliance for Housing Affordability, Community Transit, Snohomish County Conservation Futures and the Snohomish Health Board/Department of Health.
